"Empowered by Jesus to love, serve, and lead."
Beloved Christ Church Family and Visitors,
Welcome! I hope you are able to participate in some of our live stream services. All services will be available for viewing afterward as well.
IN-PERSON WORSHIP AT CHRIST CHURCH
Beginning July 19, we will resume worshiping in the Sanctuary, following strict guidelines to safeguard each other’s health and safety. Fr. Ernie's letter fully details these guidelines.
Key points of the plan include -
No more than 25 congregants in total can attend a service. That number includes the priest, servers, ushers, and so on. To manage attendance we are taking RSVP's from the congregation as detailed in the weekly e-blast.
Attendees are checked for symptoms upon entry, and their names will are recorded. Those who are symptomatic, or who have been in recent contact with those who are, will not be admitted. Worshipers should have this questionnaire completed before they come. Blank forms are available at the entrance, as well
Entry is through the side door, and exit is through the front doors. Those who cannot use stairs may exit by the side door.
Masks and social distancing are required at all times when you are on church property and in the building. Your mask must be made of at least 2-ply cloth, and cover both your mouth and your nose. Masks with vents and valves pose risks to others, and are not permitted.
Gathering before or after the service is not allowed. Please arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before the service. As challenging as this might be, it's vital that we not stop to visit with one another before, during, or after the service.
Singing is not allowed, though humming with a mask on is permitted.
The sanctuary is thoroughly cleaned before the service. All books, cushions, and other materials have been removed from pews. Bulletins will contain all things necessary for the service.
Communion will be of the Body of Christ only, and will be received standing at the entry to the chancel. The wafer is to be consumed after the communicant has returned to the pew.
Large group gatherings are still among the riskiest activities during the pandemic. If you are in a vulnerable group or feel at all uncomfortable about being in large groups, please do not feel pressured to come to mass. The most prudent thing to do is wait. Live-streaming of the service will continue. Opportunities for participation in the service from home, through pre-recorded readings, prayers, and music, will be included soon.
Social Distancing does not mean isolation. Please call one another, pray for one another, and if you are able, offer to help others. Jim Ross is coordinating pastoral care and can be reached by email (email@example.com).
