Prayer for People Critically Ill or Facing Great Uncertainty

God of the present moment,

God who in Jesus stills the storm

and soothes the frantic heart;

bring hope and courage to all

who wait or work in uncertainty.

Bring hope that you will make them the equal

of whatever lies ahead.

Bring them courage to endure what cannot be avoided,

for your will is health and wholeness;

you are God, and we need you.

-Adapted from New Zealand Prayer Book, p. 765

Church Announcements

Beloved Christ Church Family,

In an effort to keep us all connected while we respond to the Corona virus I will be sending out an e-blast several times per week. These e-blasts will contain updates about what is going on at the church, some words of encouragement and prayer, and spiritual resources.

CHURCH UPDATES

Church operations continue, but our office is closed. Rita and I are monitoring phones and email remotely. The Preschool remains closed. Financially we are doing well, and have cash on hand to meet our needs for the next few weeks. Pledges are continuing to come in, and expenses are being well controlled. It's very important that pledges continue to come in. You can mail in your pledge, or set up an electronic payment through your bank.

Thanks to Geoff Kitson, our Treasurer, we have set up an online giving system called, "Tithe.ly." It is safe, secure, and the cost is minimal. Please consider using Tithe.ly for your contributions to Christ Church.

All church gatherings and public worship services remain suspended. However the church is open for private prayer on the following schedule.

Wednesday, 10am-Noon - Private Prayer in the Sanctuary. Please observe appropriate social distancing and cleansing guidelines.

Friday, 4pm-6pm - Private Prayer in the Sanctuary.

Unfortunately, we have been asked to discontinue drive-up communion.

We will continue to offer live-streamed Holy Eucharist on Sundays at 10am on our Facebook page with a link on our webpage. We're learning from each week's broadcast. A bulletin and readings for you to follow from home will go out in the Friday e-blast. Thanks to Joel Lenderman, Kevin Comerford, Bob Miller, and the Altar Guild for volunteering their time and talents to make this possible. As you can probably see, social distancing and proper sanitation are strictly observed throughout the production of the service.

Beginning on March 25,  we will offer live-streamed Morning Prayer and Compline on our Facebook page on the following schedule. To follow along, please have your Book of Common Prayer and Bible handy, or use the website www.missionstclare.com

Morning Prayer - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 8:30am

Compline - Wednesday, Friday, 8pm

Social Distancing does not mean isolation. Please call one another, pray for one another, and if you are not in the vulnerable category, offer to help those who are. We have a church phone-tree, in order to keep us all connected and get information out quickly, if needed. If you are new, and don't think your contact information is in our system, please email Fr. Ernie (frernie@christchurchmedia.org) or Rita (rita@christchurchmedia.org).

Pastoral Care is of great importance to us right now. Many in our congregation are in the vulnerable category, and should not be going out at all. If you need errands run, a ride, or a meal please contact Jim Ross (jimmerz@aol.com). If you are available to help, please contact Jim, as well. And, thanks to all who have already stepped forward.
