We begin at age three (3); all students must be ‘potty-trained’.
We have two preschool classes. The teacher child ratio is in
accordance with NAEYC, Keystone Stars, and DPW regulations.
The parents provide a healthy snack for the entire class on a
rotating basis. A note is sent home when it is your family's
turn..
If a preschool student desires to stay for lunch with his or her
friends parents have the option to sign-up the child on a
day-to-day basis. Each child brings his or her own lunch from home.
Lunch Bunch is from 11:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Monday to Friday; the
cost is posted at the center.
We follow the Rose-Tree Media School District in calling for
‘late openings’ and ‘school closed’ days. Our School Closing Number
is the same as Rose-Tree Media School District: 542
We ask the parents to keep the children home if they have a
fever or are vomiting. If a child has Strep Throat or Pink Eye, they
must be on medication for at least twenty-four hours before
returning to school. Chicken Pox or measles have longer ‘at
home times’.
We give progress reports twice a year. Parents
are invited to meet with the teachers at this time, but a parent may
request a conference with a teacher, or the Director, at any time.
Our student body, age three to fifth grade, is quite diverse in
religious, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
We send many messages home in the ‘school-bags’ in newsletters
and we also send messages by post
‘snail-mail’. We have voice mail and e-mail at the school;
parents make good use of these quick ways to have questions
answered. Our expectation is that parents will call when a child is
sick or if a parent is going to be late in collecting the
student.
Our Staff is trained each year in CPR and First Aid; our Staff
is trained to call 911 in a true medical or security emergency.
