Music Ministry

The music ministry at Christ Church is a very important part of our worship. The variety of music during our 10 am service ranges from classical, traditional, gospel to contemporary. We use both the 1982 Hymnal and the LEV (Lift every Voice) during our worship service. Our music director/organist, Joel Lenderman, has led the choir for over 14 years. Joel is a lifetime member of Christ Church and teaches music at an elementary school.  

The choir is comprised of four age groups:

Adult Choir- 10th grade and above

Youth Choir-5th grade to 9th grade
Children’s Choir-2nd grade to 4th grade
Primary Choir-Kindergarten to 1st grade

All four choir groups are very active throughout the year and in total consist of over 40 individuals. Every age group is encouraged to participate in the choir whether they can carry a tune or not and is a great opportunity for our youth and children to become involved in the worship service.

Several times a year, usually during the major holidays, additional musicians are brought in to heighten the worship experience. We also have a chime choir that is made up of both the middle school and high school youth. In many ways the music at Christ Church adds to the overall worship experience.
