Parish Life - Hospitality

Ushers
Each Sunday, the ushers are responsible for handing out the service bulletins, helping individuals find seating, and providing assistance when needed. Ushers collect the weekly offerings and provide a count of parishioners. They carry the elements of bread and wine to the altar. This ministry includes junior ushers, our youngest volunteers, who may begin serving at 5 years old. The adult ushers mentor the junior ushers by having them participate in all ushering duties. This is a wonderful way for out youth to become more involved in the service and life of Christ Church.Greeters
Greeters provide an important hospitality service as hosts and hostesses of the Sunday worship services. This ministry often provides a visitor's first impression of Christ Church. Greeters welcome and identify visitors or guests, introduce themselves and answer any questions they may have. We invite visitors to join us for coffee hour and adult education and offer to give a tour of our church building. We also provide them with our visitor's brochure and encourage them to register their presence with us.Bread Delivery
The purpose of this ministry is to follow up with visitors who registered their presence at a Sunday service. Either that same day, or within 48 hours, we deliver bread to them along with a thank-you card.
Refrehments and Receptions
The Refreshments and Receptions ministry offers refreshments, fellowship and good cheer to the Christ Church community. We provide the refreshments served to the congregation after the 10:00 a.m. service and before the adult forum. Weekly hosts and hostesses provide cream for the coffee and lay out sugar, stirrers and donated goodies. During the summer, we offer refreshments such as iced tea and lemonade on the lawn. We also organize and host receptions on special occasions.
