Acolyte Ministry

Each area of ministry provided by the acolytes is important and fulfilling spiritually.

We help to bring the light of God to our worship through the Torch Bearers. We light the Gospel book so that the Word of God can be read.

The Crucifer brings in the cross. This reminder of Christ’s sacrifice for us brings a reminder of God’s love for us.

The Altar Server brings the gifts of the people to God’s table. Through this action we make our sacrifice to God in thanksgiving for all of His gifts.

The MC (Master of Ceremonies) assists the Celebrant in preparing the Altar. The MC also helps our younger acolytes as needed.
At all family services, the MC, Altar Server, and Crucifer help with communion. They do this by assisting in the flow of parishioners to and from the altar.

At services such as Easter and Christmas Eve, the Thurifer brings incense. The incense helps to lift our prayers to God.
