CHRIST CHURCH COMMUNITY GARDEN - A GROWING MINISTRY

During the last few weeks we have had lots of tomatoes, beans are still producing but the zucchini is about finished.   Last week 16 lbs of tomatoes were delivered to the food cupboard.  That’s a lot of tomatoes!!  The recipients of our harvest and delivery are so thankful.  Here we are celebrating on Rogation Sunday.

 

Russian vocal group, LYRA, to perform at Christ Church, Media, October 20

The Russian vocal group, LYRA, will perform a concert of Russian Orthodox liturgical music as well as folk songs of the Russian culture on Monday evening, October 20, 7:00 PM. LYRA is based in St. Petersburg and consists of two women and two men, all professionally trained at the St. Petersburg conservatory in Russia. For the first part of the concert, the singers will draw from their rich repertoire and perform pieces such as “Rejoice you righteous,” by M. Berezovsky; “Bless the Lord, oh my soul,” by V. Fainer; “The Lord’s prayer,” by P. Tchaikovsky.  The second part of the concert will be comprised of folk songs from their rich  Russian heritage.  Christ Church is located at 311 South Orange Street, Media, PA, 19063.  610-566-7525.
